STRATHROY JR. ROCKETS JAMBOREE TOURNAMENT RULES                                                                         

1.   This tournament is open to OMHA and Alliance registered U7 teams.

2.   All play is to exhibit the best in good sportsmanship and good conduct.

3.   Prior to each modified-game, teams must complete a Game Participant List indicating the name and number of each player as well as all Team Officials that will be participating in that modified-game. Only those players and Team Officials on the team’s approved roster are eligible to participate.

4.   All teams are guaranteed four games:

  2 minute warm-up 30 minute game

    Run clock with 2 minute buzzer

5.   Where no On-ice Officials are assigned, one rostered and approved Team Official from each team will be on the ice during each game. 

6.   Game play:

  • Four verses four plus goaltender.

  • All games will take place on half ice. 

  • Regulation blue pucks will be used.

  • Face-offs are used at the start of each game. Buzzer is set to two minute shift length intervals. On the buzzer players are to leave the puck as is and return to the bench. If there are fewer than four on the bench, the active player designated to stay out for the following shift must tag up at the bench prior to racing to play the loose puck. Pucks out of play – referee drops puck to non-offending team. Once the goaltender freezes the puck the team that shot the puck backs off.  The goaltender then passes the puck to a teammate to begin play in the other direction.

  • No penalties or offside/icing are to be called.

7.  Scores and standings will not be recorded.  Round Robin games only.    
8.  Floods will occur after every 3 games.     

         

The tournament committee reserves the right to make all decisions regarding the interpretation of the rules and regulations and all decisions are final. No appeals are allowed. We will not under any circumstances speak to anyone other than the Manager or Head Coach. Please communicate this rule with other members of coaching staff and team parents as abuse of this rule may result in your team’s expulsion from the tournament.
