Volunteer Opportunities and Duties


Equipment Distribution, Return and Inventory


  • Sort socks into Jersey Bags

  • Restock Medical Kits

  • Water Bottles and Bench Kit allocation



  • Sort and catalogue return of jerseys i.e. washed, missing or damaged

  • Record return of trainer kits supplies and coach’s team bag and equipment

  • Return of goalie equipment; pads, blocker, trapper, chest protector, stick, equipment bag



  • Details should include: make, model, size and possible age of each item (Goalie pads, blockers, Pinneys, and jerseys for each team)

  • Inventory trainer's kit and coach’s team bag and equipment for each team


Tryouts (Sorting Skates and Exhibition Games)

  • Set-up and attendance

  • Pinney distribution and record number beside skater’s name.

  • Evaluation paperwork

  • Office administration

  • Opening the bench doors during exhibition games (non-parent)

  • Washing of Pinneys

Volunteers opening doors during exhibition games must have their Respect In Sport and Proper Trainer OMHA Certification.           

Volunteers should be there 1½ hours before the start of the first tryout to complete the set up before the first skaters arrive. 


Team Pictures (1 person)

  • Assist photographer with organizing teams i.e. maintain schedule, line-up players (tallest to shortest) for team photo


Fundraising (various times throughout year)

  • Assembling Cash Calendars

  • Prepare Fund Raising Packages and help with product distribution


Tournament Parent Reps (1 per team)

  • Attend meetings as required and are to complete their 8 volunteer hours in the office

  • Responsible for collecting and submitting Team Baskets for Raffle Tables/Auction

  • Solicit and collect 3-5 additional raffle items

  • Setup raffle tables for tournament



  • Office Administration/Game Sheets/Web updates

  • Raffle Tables, Fund Raising initiatives

  • Medal distribution

John Henry Tournament

  • Office Administration/Game Sheets/Web updates

  • Raffle Tables, Fund Raising initiatives

  • Medal distribution


Annual General Meeting (AGM)  (6:30 pm -9:30 pm)

  • 2 volunteers needed to help set up room, take attendance, help when voting is required by ballot, and clean up.


Annual Banquet (usually the Sunday before or after Easter Weekend, 12-3 pm)

  • Dropping off trophies for engraving and picking up

  • Room set-up and clean-up

  • Assisting with food

  • Distribution of auction items


Miscellaneous Duties

  • Office cleaning and shredding

  • Storage cleaning and organization
