Parent Meeting:
We will be having a parent meeting during practice on Oct. 15, 2015. Please ensure one parent attends this.
Forms to complete:
Everyone will need to fill out their OMHA & Medical forms. We provided the forms at our previous practice and we would like them all complete and returned at our parent meeting on Oct. 15th. We do have a few extras if yours has gone missing, or they can also be found on the SDMHA site under Coaches Corner, then go to forms and applications
Practice \ Game times:
All of our practices and games are posted on the website and sometimes do change. Please ensure that you check the SDMHA website often.
Tournaments:
We have one tournament booked for the year so far and we will be looking to attend 1-2 others. One tournament will most likely be an overnighter.
- December 27-30, 2015 - John Henry tournament - Strathroy, ON – we are booked into this one.
Tournament Rep:
We will need someone to volunteer to be our tournament representative. Part of their role includes getting gift baskets to contribute to the tournaments throughout the season. We will all contribute $ towards those baskets that they'll be making up on behalf of our team. Part of our obligation to making the baskets is because we do not have to pay a tournament fee for the John Henry tournament in December and also we will need to provide a 2nd one for the year end banquette. If you or a business want to help out by donating a basket on behalf of the team, please let one of the coaches know!
Subscribing to Updates:
Please ensure you go to the main page of SDMHA website and sign up for text and/or Email updates from our team. The majority of our information will be relayed this way. In addition, you can also have our schedule download into your smart phone or iPad using the following link: http://sdmha.org/Webcal/ - This is a fantastic tool to sign up for all of your kids teams at once and without typing any more schedule in have it populate and change as the schedule changes.
Volunteer hours:
You can earn back your volunteer hours by putting in 10 hours of time doing various volunteer tasks through the season. Starting this year, you can sign up for your volunteer hours via this website: SDMHA Volunteer Sign Up As tasks are needed they will be posted on this website.
Note: The collection of gate fees do not count towards these hours as it’s a commitment our team has to perform.
Gate Collection:
Each "home" game we have to assign one of our team families to collect the money to get into the game. Record it on the sheets provided by Bryan and deposit it into the metal drop box up stairs of Gemini closest to the window overlooking the Blue Pad. On our Bantam LL Blue website you will see a Gate Duty tab. This will show when your gate collection will be. It’s up to you to come with a float, (usually $20.00 to $30.00 is loonies, twonies and a few $5.00’s will cover it; remember to take your float back out when you are done!), setup the table & sign (provided) if it’s not set up already, collect the fees and remit in the envelope & drop box. Detailed instructions of gate collection are on our Gate Duty tab. New this year, Adults $4, Seniors/Students $2.
Note: Season passes are not valid for Exhibition Games, OMHA Playdowns, or League Playoffs.
Attendance:
As our team has a small bench the kids are going to get lots of ice time. This also means we need everyone to be at our games and practices. We realize sickness, other last minute things etc. can come up and in those cases, please let us know as soon as you can - so we can make our game plans accordingly, (or bring players up if needed). On game days, the kids are expected to be dressed and ready to go 15 minutes prior to game start and for practices, we expect them ready to go when the Zamboni starts to flood. We are going to be bringing up a few Peewee LL players to assist us. We are currently working with the other bantam LL and peewee AE teams to divide up the AP’s fairly between the 3 teams.
