Good Deeds Cup
Submitted By Admin on Saturday, January 5, 2019
The Strathroy Rockets Peewee AE4 team was inspired to take the Chevrolet Good Deeds Cup Challenge! We started off by taking the 519-Pledge to donate 519 pairs of new socks for homeless in our community. With the help of the community and the Jr B Clubs of Strathroy Rockets & Sarnia Legionnaires

- they surpassed their goal donating over 850 pairs of socks to the organization 519-Pursuit. Next, our team heard the call from our local Women's shelter that they were in desperate need of food bank donations. Our team put the word out to other Strathroy teams as well as teams in neighbouring communities we were playing that we were accepting donations at our home games and we were able to donate a pick up truck load of food to the Women's Rural Resource Centre. Lastly, in groups of 3 our team dispersed in our community during the holiday season to volunteer at our Salvation Army red kettles. HELPING OUT & BEING INVOLVED IN OUR COMMUNITY WAS THE GREATEST REWARD!

Competition &
Kindness can Coincide.

Thank you Larry
MacDonald Chevrolet & Chevrolet Canada for inspiring hockey players across
Canada to do good things in their community.
