Great Tournament Weekend where the Strathroy Jr. Rockets Novice AE's won their First Tournament of the Year.  The Rockets ran the table going undefeated in Round Robin Play playing a hard fought battle against teams from Mt. Brydges, Belle River, Erie North Shore, and West London.

They would face a strong Team from Belle River in the Finals and played a back and forth game resulting in the Rockets winning 5-4.  Congrats to all the players who made all of their Parents, Fans, and Coaches very proud.

A strong round robin & elimination play, going 4-0, put the Strathroy Novice AE Jr. Rockets into Championship Sunday against St. Marys Rock.  After a very tight Championship game between two very hard working teams, the Rockets lost 2-0 in the Finals.  Parents, and Fans from both teams congratulated each other for the hard work that these kids put forth to make it a great final game.  The Coaches & Parents are all very proud of the Hard Work and Class you showed during the weekend. There hard work paid off as they received an invite to represent Strathroy at the 2017 St. Clair Shores International Silver Stick Finals.  Great work Rockets. #HardWorkPaysOff

The Team showed a tremendous amount of Tenacity during round robin play going 1-2-1 facing very competitive teams from the Niagara / Toronto Region.  They finished 4^th in Round Robin play which put them against the eventual tournament Winners from Parry Sound.  Down to only two lines, and down 2-1 after 2 periods of play the kids eventually ran out of steam in the 3^rd period and suffered what would be there 3^rd straight loss.

Over the course of the season, they will encounter defeats, but you must not be defeated.   In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.  Well done Rockets on keeping your heads up high.

Some great hockey was played, when the Strathroy Jr. Rockets Novice AE’s travelled to St. Clair Shores, Michigan for International Silver Stick.  They battled hard in all three Round Robin games and demonstrated the same character and determination that got them the invite in the first place.  Coaches, Parents, Grandparents and Fans could not be more proud as they finished 6th out of the 10 team division.

This experience will hopefully be something they never forget, and can only build off their 1 – 2 Round Robin Record as they continue their play in OMHA Playdowns.
