Stoney Creek 42nd Annual Tournament Champions!
The Strathroy Jr. Rockets U14A capped off an outstanding weekend of hockey by capturing the 42nd Annual Stoney Creek Tournament Championship, showcasing resilience, teamwork, and determination from start to finish.
The Jr. Rockets opened the tournament in dominant fashion on Friday with a 6–0 shutout win over the Ottawa Sting. Saturday brought tougher matchups, but the U14As rose to the challenge. In Game 2, the Jr. Rockets battled to a tight 2–1 victory over the Welland Tigers. Later that day, they faced a structured Markham Waxers team and fell 3–1, finishing the round-robin with a 2–1 record. On Sunday morning in the Semi-Final, the U14As met the Waxers again - this time delivering a disciplined performance. Behind a stellar team effort, Strathroy edged out a 1–0 win, earning their place in the championship game. In the tournament final, the Jr. Rockets saved their best for last. After being down 2-1 going into the third period, Strathroy defeated the Tri-Centre Jr. Attack 4–2 to claim the championship title.
Congratulations to the players for a hard-fought, well deserved tournament win!
