On behalf of
the Strathroy and District Minor Hockey Association, we welcome all teams, parents
and fans to the 42nd Annual John Henry Memorial Local League/House League
Tournament. The intent of the John Henry
Tournament is to promote citizenship, goodwill and sportsmanship through
competition.
This year we have 58 teams participating in the tournament, from Mites through to Midget age divisions. A total of 105 games will be played across the four day tournament. This would not be possible without the help of volunteers, our tournament Parent Reps and the Strathroy & District Minor Hockey Executive.
All games will be played at the Gemini Sportsplex at 667 Adair Blvd., Strathroy. The tournament office phone number is 519.245.0560 and the arena phone number is 519.245.7557.
While in Strathroy for medical emergencies dial 9-1-1 or call the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital (519) 245-1550 located at 395 Carrie Street, Strathroy.
The Tournament Office can be found on the 2nd floor of the Gemini Sportsplex for registration, game results or standings. Please ensure that you have your OMHA Team Roster and approved Travel Permit (if applicable) ready to hand in when you register at the Tournament Office prior to your first scheduled game; players do not need to sign in.
The Gemini Sportsplex Canteen will be opening at 7:00 a.m. on each day of the tournament and will offer breakfast and lunch items for purchase. For skate sharpening or sporting goods you can contact Pete’s Sports at the Gemini Sportsplex. There will also be vendors on site throughout the tournament including a photographer, sports memorabilia, and hockey card sellers. Tickets will be on sale for Raffle items, draw to take place on Monday December 29, 2014.
