Some notes from our gathering with board members re: ice times, use of arena...
Please be at the arena 20 minutes prior to ice time, this will allow you adequate time to screen in and tie players' skates. The front doors to the arena will be locked until 15-20 minutes prior to ice time. There will be chairs in the lobby area against the back wall to tie players' skates, once tied players can head to the dressing rooms and the coach will call and notify the arena assistant. Once all participants for an ice have arrived in the dressing room area, arena staff will lock the front doors. When exiting the arena, if you are on the green pad - parents and players will exit on the right hand side of the arena into the parking lot facing the high school. If on the blue pad, parents and players will exit to the left side of the building. There are 8 spots marked off in each dressing room per ice time, there will be chairs outside of the dressing room to make room for 10 skaters in total. The doors to the dressing room will be left open, this allows for coaches to enter the room (2 Deep) while following guidelines provided by the municipality for social distancing. Masks should be worn by players until they put their helmet on. Currently (as at Sept 15) the municipality is not allowing any spectators, it is possible this may change in the near future- should this change the association will let all know ASAP. After you have tied your players skates please exit the arena immediately, no lingering and respect the arena attendants they are doing their job by asking you to move along. Please send a water bottle, with your rockets name on it, no water bottles nor fountain at this time. Please check your rockets' equipment bag,  if a piece of equipment is forgotten and the doors are locked-we may be out of luck for that ice time. If your rocket cannot make an ice time, let the coaches know, we are only allowed 12 skaters/including coaches per session.
Come November the association will attempt to create "bubbles" for the kids to be able to play games vs other associations- this will be dependent upon other centers- Strathroy District Minor Hockey Association is fully prepared for this. It is important for your children to know this process to ensure everything runs seamlessly.
