Rockets win Hometown tourney
Strathroy Atom Rep defeat Noble Kings in gold medal game this past Sunday and earn themselves the title of Hometown Rep Olympic Champs.
With a slow start Friday morning the 8:15 opening game vs Lambeth was far from pretty. The boys just couldn't seem to find their feet yet still managed to end game with a 2-2 tie. After a few motivational words from the coaches and a few line change ups, the boys found that spark that makes them tick as a team and keeps the machine running. They came back in game 2 vs Dorchester defeating them 4-0 and grabbed that much needed win. Building on the Dorchester game was important and the boys were told that if they listen and work for each other nothing can stop them, so they came out Saturday morning vs Noble Kings with an impeccable performance winning the game 6-0 and followed that game up with an impressive win vs Fort Erie's major atom team earning them a spot in Gold Medal game vs Noble Kings. This game brought yet another display of great team hockey with everyone playing their hearts out they won 3-0 to take home the gold. Not every player was able to get a game MVP award or a game quote but be sure every player deserved one. What each player was rewarded with was the biggest prize of all.. A team championship.. and a gold medal at the Strathroy Rep Olympics.
