Gate Keeper Policy 2014-2015 Season

Each Team will be responsible to collect a gate admission for all their league and exhibition games. It will be the responsibility of the Team to determine whether this duty will be shared amongst the Team or one individual will perform this function for the 2014/15 Season on behalf of the Team. The individual doing the gate needs to be an adult so the gate can be enforced and controlled. An average game will bring in between $20 up to over $40. This accounts for revenue for SDMHA over the course of the hockey season. Below is an outline of guidelines as well as a simple process to follow:

  1. Each Team will have their designated person set up the gate 1 hour prior to game time. A table is always available in the front foyer of the Gemini Sportsplex. The SDMHA sign that displays the various gate fees and the cash box are found in the janitorial closet next the Green Pad entrance.

  2. As part of your registration, two season passes per family (orange key tags) have been pre-purchased and will be distributed by your Team Parent Rep . Additional Season Passes can be purchased for the 2014/15 Season by contacting [email protected] The price of Season Passes are as follows:

    $30 – Single Pass
    $50 – Family Pass (2 Passes)
    $20 – Senior Pass
    $30 – Senior Family Pass (2 Passes)

Cheques for Season Passes are to be made payable to “SDMHA”

  3. Season Passes are valid for League Games only. Regular admission prices apply for all Exhibition and Playoff Games. OMHA Playdown admission pricing is subject to change as per contract.

  4. For those individuals who don’t have an “orange key tag” Season Pass the price of admissions is $3 for an adult, $2 for a senior or child over 12 years of age.
There is no charge for children over the age of 12 who are members of SDMHA or for brothers/sisters watching their brother/sister play hockey.

  5. Sponsor Passes are a “yellow key tag”. Anyone with one of these Passes is allowed into any game (Exhibition, Regular Season, OMHA Playdowns, and Playoffs) free of charge.

  6. The empty SDMHA cash box will be made available. Envelopes and cash deposit sheets will be provided in the SDMHA cash box. Some Teams will use their own box or container, as it will most likely be the holder of the Team float.

  7. In the past year, a $60 float has been ample. The float should be comprised of loonies, toonies, and $5 & $10 bills.

  8. 8. When your child’s game starts:

A/ Take out your Team’s float

B/ Count the remaining money (not including Team float) and record totals on the “Deposit Summary Sheet”. Please ensure you include your name and Team name on the “Deposit Summary Sheet”

C/ Place the money and “Deposit Summary Sheet” in envelope. Please also include sheet listing the names of people who purchased Season Passes. Seal the envelope and sign your name on the outside of the envelope.

D/ Place the sealed envelope in the locked black box outside the SDMHA Office on the 2nd floor of the Gemini Sportsplex.

E/ If for some reason the locked box is not available keep deposit and contact Tara Boersma @ 519-615-2134 and she will arrange to get the deposit from you.

NOTE: The locked box opening is very small, would you please try not to include a lot of coins in your deposit. The canteen will be happy to purchase the coins or you can use them as part of your Team’s float.

  1. There may be some overlapping collection of gate with the next team that is playing. This is acceptable.

  2. The person for the next game (unless you are the last game) should arrive as you are packing up, therefore, a smooth transition. However, if the person is not there or there are no further games, please leave the empty cash box in the janitorial closet next the Green Pad entrance.

  3. If you are the last game of the evening please put the SDMHA sign that shows the gate fees away in the janitorial closet next the Green Pad entrance.
