Peewee Rockets Win Bronze
The Strathroy-Caradoc Optimist Peewee Rep Team competed in the SDMHA Olympics Tournament this past weekend and took home the bronze medal.
The team competed in five hard fought games over the weekend finishing 4th in the round robin with a record of 1-2-1. Sunday morning the team took on the Ingersoll Express in what proved to be the most exciting game of the tournament.
Down 1-0 most of the game, the Rockets continued to press late in the third period, then with the goalie pulled in favour of the extra attacker Wesley Griffiths scored the equalizer with no time showing on the clock. Following a scoreless 5 minute overtime period, the teams went to 3 on 3 where once again Griffiths provided the heroics scoring the winner with a howitzer from the top of the circle.
The team worked hard throughout the weekend with contributions coming from the entire team.
