Tavistock Tournament Champs!
This one day tournament started out with a team relay fastest skater event.  With four teams taking part in the tournament.  They took the 4 fastest individual times from all teams to compete in a final skate off that would take place before the "B" Finals.      The Strathroy Atom Rep Rockets ended up with the quickest overall average of all 4 teams, which resulted in some hardware for the boys.  Bradley Vanheeswyk finished 2nd and Easton Cowan was 3rd out of the top 4 that would go onto the semi finals.

The boys then got right into the action defeating Shallow Lake 5-1.
Then at our 12:00pm game they would beat the Ingersol Express by a score of 3-2.
With a quick flood of the ice the boys would return to the ice for their third game of the day.  They beat the hometown Tavistock Titans 4-0 to earn themselves a place in the "A" Finals.
Next was the semis for fastest skater.  As it worked out Bobby and Snipper would line up against each other with a grin on both their faces.   With Snipper closely getting the edge over teammate Bobby.  Easton would then faceoff vs a Shallow Lake opponent and would win the fastest skater competition with Bobby and the rest of his teammates cheering close by.
Earlier the boys voted for the 3 kids that they thought would best represent the Rockets in a shootout competition.  Easton, Parker Andersson, and Jayden Kinchen would represent as our shooters and the goaltending duo of Luuuu and Hartsy would try to win the goaltending award.  The first round was a 6 way goaltending tie.  As they went for round 2, Lukas Brants would turn away all shots to win, as his partner Hartsy would only allow 1 goal to finish 2nd, out of the 8 goaltenders.
In the finals where the Rockets would finish where they left off.  Pressuring the opposing Titans and digging hard to end up winning 2-0 and bringing home more hardware.
This doesn't happen unless you have everyone pulling the same way.  Derb and Moose fighting the flu, the "Bruise Brothers" with there endless attack, Mark Hewitt and Ashton Peters using each other well on the cycle, Jayden Kinchen playing Rover at every position, with Parks doing his magic down low, Lefty protecting his net, and Logan Parker winning the draws and Rowan sun tanning on the beach.  Overall a great day of hockey, with some very tired kids at the end of the day.  But it was all worth it!!
