PeeWee AE Rockets Travel To Detroit for the Hockey Time’s Extravaganza Tournament

         The DJM Controls PeeWee AE Junior Rockets traveled to Detroit on December 29th to the 31st for the Hockey Time’s Extravaganza tournament. In their first game the Rockets faced the Dayton DHA Stealth.  The Rockets took the first game with a score of 4 - 1.  Goals were scored by Tyler Schiedel (1), Danny Pierce (2) and Hunter Leudke (1).  Assists went to Riley McFee (1) and Liam Thompson (1).

    The Rockets played their second game against the St. Clair Shores Lakers.  The Rockets came out strong and were dominant throughout the game winning with a score of 6 - 3.  Scoring for the Rockets was Leudke (3), Schiedel (2) and Pierce (1).  Assisting on the goals was Schiedel (2), Thompson (1) and Andrew VanDyk (1). 
     Later that day the Rockets faced the Kensington Valley Raiders.  It was a hard fought game with the Rockets coming up just short losing by a score of 2 - 3.  Pierce scored both goals for the Rockets.  Parker Boersma-Vafiades and John Bradshaw assisted the goals.  
     On the final day of play, the Rockets, once again, faced the Kensington Valley Raiders in the finals.  The Rockets came out strong and dominated the game.  Goals were scored by Pierce (1), Thompson (2), Owen Parker (1) and McFee (1).  Assisting on the goals were Bradshaw (2), Pierce (1), David Hillis (1) and Ben Banks (2).  The defensive team of Clayton Vanderwal, Andrew VanDyk, Cole Bondy, Jeff Dunn, Parker Boersma-Vafiades and Jacob Knight were stellar in their defense of Ben Fletcher who had an outstanding tournament in net for The Rockets.  The Rockets took gold with a final score of 5 – 2.  Danny Pierce was named team MVP for his outstanding offence.
